Mary Beth Ritger has more than thirty-five years of experience as an attorney in the fields of estate planning, estate and trust administration and related tax planning. She began her career at the New York City firm Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP. She maintained an independent trusts and estates practice for many years before opening her current office in the vibrant Flatiron district.

Ms. Ritger represents individuals whose needs range from a basic Will to a sophisticated estate plan. Services typically involve the following:

    • Estate planning for individuals, including analysis of estate planning alternatives, implementing gift plans and preparing Wills, powers of attorney, health care proxies and insurance, charitable and minor's trusts.

    • Representing the executor of an estate, including probate of the Will, post-mortem tax planning and preparation and audit of Federal and state estate tax returns.

    • Representing a trustee in the administration of a trust, including income tax planning, accounting and the exercise of the trustee's fiduciary powers.

Ms. Ritger is a 1976 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif, and she received her undergraduate degree in 1973 from the University of Colorado. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and has an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. She has been named as a New York Super Lawyer for all years since 2008.

Ms. Ritger lives in New York City. She is a lifelong balletomane and she also enjoys music, reading and travel.
